2 challenges in 1 layout

Have you seen the Challenge blog-blog hop??I love it!!
I started the blog hop at Scrapsketch. They have a really great sketch for this blog hop challenge!
This is the sketch:

and this is what I made from it:

The colors are a challenge from another challenge blog:  SPCC.

To late to enter, but I had a lot of fun with it!

The blog hop last till October 1, so, hop to Scrapsketch to begin this blog hop and get challenged!!

** Yesterday I had a fantastic, emotional and unique day. Early in the morning I drove to Peize, near by Groningen.

** After almost 40 years I decided that Alex (my brother that died at birth) a worthy place needed in my life. And cause it makes me sad that he is buried without any sign to remember (just a number...) I wanted to make something.
By a story mom told me, I decided to make a dragon fly.
Searching on the internet I came in contact with Henk and Elly from Loodlijn. On there site was a little picture of a dragon fly and I contacted them by mail. After I had told what I wanted, they reacted warm and understanding and it felt so good. Send some pics to Henk so he could make a plan.

** Yesterday was the day and at 9.45 am I arrived in Peize. Henk and Elly where both outside to welcome me. I did get a tour around their garden, in which are a lot of lovely statues made by Henk. I must say a very warm and cozy hello that gave me a good feeling immediatly.

** After the tea we started to work. On advice of Henk we decided to work with copper. Somewhat more work, so help from Henk was needed to finish this in 1 day.

** Knocking coppen, glow and cool down, solder, I did it all. At each part of the dragon fly I worked and with that I'm so happy and proud!

** The result I don't show you yet. First mom and dad has to see it in real life!
But I ended this day with a very good feeling and the result is great too!.
Thanks Henk and Elly, for helping me realize my dream!

Edited 30-09-09:
En hier is 'ie dan:

{AAM challenge #2} What color describes me?

A new challenge on All about me! What color describes me?

Some days are red, Some are blue.
On different days, I'm different too.
You'd be surprised how many ways
I change on different colored days...

Dr. Seuss’s book My Many Colored Days greatly influenced this challenge. Color can certainly evoke moods; it can also describe them. And if color can describe moods, color can capture a personality too…
So for this challenge we want you to dig a little deeper, think a little more metaphorically, and reflect on the question: If YOU were a color, which one would you be?

What color are you?
What color describes you? What color really speaks to you? You don’t have to take a color test to figure this out, although you certainly can if you wish to. (You can find lots of them on the internet.)

**Journaling reads:
My soul is blue. Just as blue as a peacock. Only, my blue is somewhat grubby. Like the blue from a peacock who has laid in the mud.
But under that layer of dust, there is that beautiful blue color, by my too.
There will come a moment that that color becomes visible again, for me and for others. And just like the peacock I have more beautiful colors. But mostly I'm  not fully aware of that. My 'tail' with beautiful colors is just dragging behind me. Others can see my different colors, but I myself forget that I have them.
I have to show off my feathers more oft!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Coredinations Core color, Aruba; Naturel/ PP: Creative Imaginations, Teal; Scenic Route; Making Memories, Ledger paper; October Afternoon, County Fair/ Arrow: Bazzill chips/ Buttons: Basic Grey/ Ribbons: Savvy 'n Sassy/ Chipboard: Fancy Pants, From the Garden; Magistical Memories, nestle circles/ Flowers: Heidi Swapp; Prima/ Ticker/ Letters: Art Talent chipboard; Tickers, American Craft/ Embrodery floss/ Tulip 3d paint/ Hotfix stones

** Today was the day: the Dam- to dam run Womens Win, 4 EM. The alarm went off at 7.30 am, cause the start was at 10 o'clock in Amsterdam.
Just before 8.30 we left from home. Together with Hans (with camera and the instruction to make a lot of pictures..) and my mom.
With the car to Weesp and there by train to Amsterdam. All went smooth and around 9.15 we already were in Amsterdam.

** Looking for the place to start. For this run all women started together.

** All together a warming up! Very nice with all the ladies together!

Het startschot werd gegeven door Erica Terpstra.
** The starting shot was given by Erica Terpstra from the NOC-NSF.

En daar gaan we dan!
** And there we go!

Feestje!!
** Mom and Hans went by boat to the finish place, together with a music band. Party!

** And after 4 EM was there for me the finish.

** And this is how I looked just after the finish...

** Here you can see my time and how I finishedcompared to the others. I'm very proud and happy!

En daarna even uitpuffen op een terrasje!
** And then, something to drink and rest at a terrace!

** Still one night and then is the Dam to dam run! I run tomorrow the 4 EM (=6.44 km). So, that's not the real Dam to dam, cause that's a bit to much for the first time, I think.
I'm looking forward to it!
At 10.00 o'clock is the start on the Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam.  I expect to finish in 40 minutes.
This is the parcours:

Mijn startnummer is 90608.
** If you want to follow me, look at Startpagina.mobi (sorry, in Dutch!).
My number is 90908.
And I will love it if people came to sheer me on!

{AAM challenge #1} If I live to be 100...

The day is finally here for our first All About Me Challenge
with the Design Team!

So let's jump right in!

Perhaps you'll recognize these lyrics If I live to be 100 and never see the seven wonders.. that'll be alriiiight... I am Rosemary's granddaughter, the spitting image of my father and when the day is done my mama's still my biggest fan....  If you are a Jessica Andrew's fan or listen to a little country music, you'll know that song I think.  While I'm not a huge country fan, that's a song that stuck with me since I first heard it and what has inspired our first challenge!

If I live to be 100.....

How would you finish that sentence??  Remember.. this is about YOU!
Here is what I came up with:

Supply list: Paper: MME Penny lane, Crate Prudence collection, Jilly Bean soup Minestrone, October Afternoon; Cardstock: brown and orange; Letters: Thickers American Crafts, Mini alphabet stickers My little shoebox, Jillibeen Soup Bean Brown; Bird: Maya Road; Card and envelop: Hallmark; Ribbon: Savvy 'n Sassy; Flowers: Prima; Arrows: Heidi Swap

Journaling reads:

Dear Nanna,

If I live to be 100, then I would be 10 years older then you are now.
And 90 is for me already a hugh age.
If I live to be 100, then I hope there will be someone who loves me as much as I love you. Who will think of me with as much affection as I think of you.
If I live to be 100, I hope I will not be too lonely. The chance to that is of course big, because we don't have any kids. But you are also lonely, even with 4 daughters, a lot.
As I live to be 100, I hope my health will be good. Cause always having pain, like you, that must be so hard.
But... If I live to be 100, I hope to become that together with Hans. And not like you, more then the half of your live alone..

Love, Miranda.
