Op My Scrapbook Nook is een 5 weekse crop aan de gang.
We kregen een soort recept waarmee we de layout moesten maken.
Ik heb de januari kit gebruikt en een oude foto van mamma en haar ouders en zus.

I used the January kit and an old pic form my mom, with her parents and sis.

Na alle drukte was het heerlijk om het weekend even te scrappen.

Naheerlijk uitgeslapen te hebben, gaan we naar Soest, even kijken op dekerstmarkt van het Vaarderhoogt. Elk jaar hebben ze daar buiten allemaalhuisjes met kleine winkeltjes erin.

Eneen kerststal, met echte dieren.

Inéén van de eerste huisjes zie ik meteen stenen liggen

metwoorden erin gegraveerd.

Alhet hele jaar heb ik rondgekeken of ik ergens een steen kon vinden met mijn“One Little Word”: Love. En nu, bijna tegen het einde van het jaar, terwijl iker niet echt meer naar zoek, vind ik ‘m.

Mijnjaar heeft in het teken van het woord Love gestaan. Het tonen van mijn liefdeaan mijn naasten, lief zijn voor mezelf. Het is een moeilijk jaar geweest,waarin die liefde hard nodig was en is.

Eenjaar ook waarin ik heb ervaren dat als je je kwetsbaar opstelt, je van anderendie liefde ook krijgt.

Hetvoelt alsof met het vinden van deze steen het cirkeltje rond is

watbetreft mijn OLW.

Zaterdaghebben we een feestje van Mark en Rena. Ze kennen elkaar 25 jaar en samen metPim en Loes die 35 jaar getrouwd zijn, geven ze een feestje in de Kalkovens inHuizen.

Bijeen feestje als dat hoort natuurlijk een persoonlijk cadeautje.

Dusheb ik de foto’s sinds we in Loosdrecht zijn komen wonen doorzocht en deleukste (gescand en) geprint.

Vandie foto’s heb ik een miniboekje gemaakt met als thema:

Eengoede buur is beter dan een verre vriend!

WantMark en Rena zijn goede buurtjes, maar inmiddels ook echte vrienden met wie welief en leed kunnen delen.

Naasthet boekje nodigen we ze ook uit voor een dagje naar sauna de Veluwse bron metz’n vieren.

Opschool kregen we vandaag ons “kerstpakket”: een Pluim!

Ineen mooi doosje, met een kaart van het bestuur. Leuk, want nu kan iedereen zelfop zoek naar een leuk geschenk of een belevenis.

Zelfvind ik dit een veel leuker cadeau dan dat wat we vorig jaar kregen: een groteschaal met kleine schaaltjes daarbij met daarop tekeningen van de speciaalonderwijs school van ons bestuur.

Demijne staat nog steeds in het magazijntje van mijn klas.

In onze kerstboom hangen een paar dingen met een verhaal erachter.

Hetduifje is gemaakt door de vriendin van Emiel, de dirigent van ‘het Jongerenkooruit Huizen.

Zij was heel erg zieken heeft voor zij overleed voor elke koorlid een duifje gemaakt. Deze kregen wenadat we zoals elk jaar de 2 nachtmissen gezongen hadden.

Hetslapende engeltje heb ik jaren geleden als kerstkaart gemaakt. In eenluciferdoosje, gevuld met watten, ging het engeltje naar onze naasten. Omabewaarde het engeltje en elke kerst kwam ‘ie weer tevoorschijn.

Na haar overlijden hebik ‘m meegenomen.

Hethartje is een recente aanwinst. Met sinterklaas dit jaar hebben pappa en mamma,Regina en René, en wijzelf er één cadeau gekregen.

Voormij staat het hartje symbool voor onze liefde voor elkaar en de moeilijkedecembermaand waar we nu doorheen gaan.

Devis komt bij Hans thuis vandaan en heeft hij meegenomen toen we trouwden.

Elk kind had bij henthuis een eigen kerstbal in de boom hangen.

Ookbuiten hangen de kerstlampjes. Boven de jacuzzi.

Alswe in bad zitten, hangt ook daar een kerstsfeertje.

Langzaam komt de kerstsfeer in huis.

Eerst naar het tuincentrum om een kerstboom uit te zoeken. Dat is bij ons eigenlijk altijd zo gebeurd. De boom moet ongeveer zo groot zijn als ikzelf ben en mooi rond. Sinds een paar jaar kopen we er 1 met kluit, omdat de naalden daar wat beter aan blijven zitten.

Eenmaal thuis zet Hans de kerstboom zoals altijd in de mand.

Mijn taak is het dan om de boom op te tuigen.

Eerst de lampjes. Helaas was 1 van de snoeren kapot. Dus opnieuw naar het tuincentrum om een nieuw snoer te kopen. We hebben gekozen voor een lekker lang snoer met letlampjes, waar we maar 1 snoer van nodig hebben.Als de lampjes in de boom zitten, kunnen de ballen erin. Aan de ballen zitten witte en gouden lintjes, dus ze kunnen zo in de boom gehangen worden.

En dan is de boom versierd en is het kerst in huis.

Desirée is jarig! En we zijn uitgenodigd om samen met hen te gaan eten bij Bordjes op de Cattenhagestraat in Naarden.

’s Middags zijn we eerst in Huizen, om bij pappa en mamma de eettafel uit de kamer te halen. Het wordt voor pappa steeds moeilijker om de trap op en af te gaan, dus komt er een bed in de woonkamer. Als we de eettafel weg gehaald hebben, gaan we samen met Emil bij juwelier Veerman een cadeautje voor Desirée kopen: een Pandorra bead.

Om 6 uur hebben we afgesproken in het restaurant. Rogier en Desirée zijn er al met de kids. Jamie komt meteen haar horloge laten zien dat ze van Sinterklaas gekregen heeft.

Uit het menu kiezen we allemaal wat lekkers. Quinn en Jamie kiezen een pannenkoek, Kevin neemt een pizza, Hans kiest voor spareribs, Rogier de zalm, Desirée de ribeye en ik neem de biefstuk.

Na het toetje drinken we bij de Hooijschuurtjes thuis nog koffie en thee.

De kerstkaarten liggen klaar om te versturen. Dit jaar heb ik ze zelf gemaakt n.a.v. een voorbeeld dat ik op Pinterest heb gevonden. De kaarten zijn neutraal van kleur en niet uitbundig. Want uitbundige, vrolijke kaarten passen niet bij hoe ik, hoe wij ons voelen.

Al in Oktober ben ik begonnen met het maken van de kaarten., zodat ze maar vast klaar waren.

Vandaag heb ik alle enveloppen geschreven en December zegels gekocht. Van de week kunnen de kaarten op de post!

Sinterklaasavond. Bij pappa en mamma op de Witte de Withstraat. Beiden wilden ze graag dat we pakjesavond bij hen vieren. Het wordt een avond met een lach en een traan.

Het is heerlijk om te zien hoe opgewonden Emil is. De cadeautjes liggen al in de kamer, maar toch schrikt hij zich rot als ik hard op de deur klop. Hij weet niet waar hij naar toe moet….

Maar kan er even later wel om lachen.

Regina heeft slaatje gemaakt, zoals we dat al sinds onze kindertijd eten met verjaardagen en feestjes. Als we allemaal wat te eten hebben, mogen de eerste cadeautjes open. Emil pakt de cadeautjes en deelt ze uit. Natuurlijk zijn er veel cadeautjes voor Emil, maar ook de rest wordt verwend. Het thema van de avond lijkt hartjes. Voor ieder gezin is er een glazen hartje voor in de kerstboom. Daarnaast zijn er ook nog rieten harten om op te hangen. Onze manier om onze liefde voor elkaar uitdrukking te geven… in deze moeilijke periode.

dat lijkt me pas fijn.

Vandaag hebben we sint gevierd met Eliis, André en Bo.
Rond 3 uur waren we bij hen. Bo was al helemaal hyper de pieper. Spannend hoor.
De zwarte pieten cupcakes vielen zeer goed in de smaak. Bo vond ze echt super mooi en bleef er maar naar kijken.
Gelukkig werden ze ook met smaak opgegeten! Hihi, piet zijn wangen opeten...

Natuurlijk zongen we Sinterklaas liedjes. Bo kent ze allemaal uit haar hoofd. En dat met 4 jaar... Knap!
En dan ineens, een hoop lawaai, pepernoten die door de gang vliegen. Schrikken!
Maar Bo is niet bang, ook al schrikt ze wel. Ze gaat snel kijken. En ja hoor door de gang heen liggen allemaal pepernoten, al onze schoenen liggen door elkaar, en voor de deur staat een zak met cadeautjes. Op de trap naar de straat liggen ook allemaal pepernoten. Dat was echt een rommelpiet!
Bo ruimt alle pepernoten netjes op en kijkt nog even of ze Piet nog ziet op straat. Nee... die is vast net de hoek om.

En dan cadeautjes uitpakken. Bo duikt de zak in en zoekt de cadeautjes uit. Een cadeautje voor Bo! Dat is geen probleem, haar naam kan ze prima lezen.
Dan een cadeautje voor p-a-p-a, ja voor André! Af en toe heeft ze wat hulp nodig met de namen lezen, amar ze komt er al best aardig uit.
Na een poosje ligt er een hele stapel uitgepakte cadeautjes voor Bo. Veel tijd om ze te bekijken neemt ze niet, want.. er zijn nog meer cadeautjes!

Ook de rest wordt verwend met leuke cadeautjes. En dan is er een cadeautje zonder naam. Nou ja dan moet Bo 'm maar open maken en kijken wat er in zit. Drie flesjes nagellak! Voor wie zouden die zijn? Nou, voor Bo natuurlijk denkt Bo. Maar helaas voor haar, Sint had mij in gedachten... Dat is wel even moeilijk! Maar als ik beloof dat ik haar nageltjes zal lakken, dan is het goed!

Het einde van de zak met cadeautjes komt in zicht. Bo verdwijnt bijna helemaal in de zak, op zoek naar de laatste paar. Zo'n grappig gezicht!

Als dan alle cadeautjes uitgepakt zijn, we Sint bedankt hebben en er met de eerste cadeautjes gespeeld is, gaan we met z'n allen gourmetten. Hmmm!

Vandaag lekker gekliederd met marsepein!

Pieten kopjes voor op de cupcakes.

De cupcakes zijn al gebakken volgens dit recept: http://www.cupcakerecepten.nl/2011/10/speculaas-cupcakes en zitten in de vriezer.

Op de ene helft van de cupcakes komen de pietjes en op de andere helft een Vanille Speculaas topping.

Morgen voor we weg gaan om Sint te vieren bij Ellis, André en Bo maak ik de cupcakes af!

En vanmiddag belde de postbode aan met een grote doos! Ik moest even denken wat dat nou kon zijn....
Ineens wist ik het! Het 2012 Memory logbook and Challenge book! Met daarin mijn layout!!!
Gaaf!!!!!!

Vandaag haal ik Emil uit school. Normaal gaat hij naar opa en oma, maar daar komt vandaag iemand praten over huishoudelijke hulp.

Om even voor 3 uur sta ik op het schoolplein. En realiseer me dat de school pas om kwart over 3 uit gaat. Handig! Vooral omdat het (voor het eerst sinds weken) giet van de regen. Gelukkig heb ik wel mijn paraplu bij me. En daar is Emil ook blij mee.

Thuis drinken we eerst iets (thee en kindercola) en dan gaan we pepernoten bakken. Het deeg is al klaar, dus Emil kan zo aan de slag. Lekker balletjes rollen en heerlijk af en toe een stukje deeg snoepen.Hij heeft grote lol. Twee pepernoten aan elkaar, een rare vorm.

Tussendoor praten we over opa die zo ziek is. Van de week was het maar zozo, zegt Emil, terwijl hij zijn hand heen en weer beweegt. En: Dat vind ik niet zo leuk hoor.

Dan kan de eerste lading in de oven. Emil regelt het wel!
Op een stukje bakpapier kunnen we de rest van de pepernoten leggen. Maar... daar blijft met een snoepgrage Emil niet heel veel van over: wel 8 pepernoten....
Terwijl de pepernoten in de oven zitten, kijken we naar De Kameleon 2.
Het huis ruikt lekker naar de pepernoten!

met veel of weinig bedenkingen.
Iedere week het ontsteken
van een nieuw licht.

Met alle bezinning en verlossing
op het Kerstfeest gericht.

Vandaag ben ik begonnen aan mijn December Daily.
De kaft van mijn boekje is klaar.

** Today I started with my December Daily.

The album for my DD is ready.

Of het echt een Daily gaat worden weet ik nog niet. Misschien sla ik sommige dagen over... we zullen zien.
** If it really will be a Daily, I dont know yet. Maybe I'll skip some days... we shall see.

De maat van mijn boekje is 16-16 cm (6.3-6,3 inch). De bladzijdes gaan 15-15 cm worden (6-6 inch).
Binnenin zit de binder uit de Nook kit van Juli.
** The size of my Daily is 6.3-6.3 inch. The pages are going to be 6-6 inch.
Inside is a binder from the Nook kit from July.

Ik wil dit jaar een December Daily gaan maken, omdat de kans groot is dat dit de laatste December is dat mijn vader er nog bij zal zijn. Dus wil ik juist deze maand graag vastleggen omdat het een bijzondere maand zal zijn. Een maand van samen zijn, afscheid nemen en nog even van elkaar genieten.

Daarom kies ik er voor om de basis redelijk eenvoudig te houden.
** I want to make a DD this year, because it probably will be the last December my dad will be with us. So I want to record this monthe cause it will be a special month. A month of being together, saying goodbye and enjoy each others company while it can.
That's why I choose a rather simply base.

Afgelopen zaterdag ging om half 6 de wekker. Ik had een workshop Damherten fotograferen in de Amsterdamse Waterleiding duinen bij Vogelenzang.
Om 6.15 uur zat ik in de auto om rond 7.15 uur te arriveren op de afgesproken plaats.
Ook 17 anderen en de workshopleiders arriveren en ik krijg de neiging om mijn camera maar meteen op te bergen. Wat een camera's en lenzen hebben de meesten bij zich... Daar valt mijn camera compleet bij in het niet.
Maar... ik kom vooral ook voor de beleving, want hoe vaak kun je damherten in de bronst zien? Ik wist in ieder geval niet waar ik moest zijn!

** Last Saturday at 5.30 am I wake up. I had a workshop Fallow deer photography in the Amsterdamse Waterleiding Duinen near Vogelenzang.
At 6.15 am I was in the car to arrive at 7.15 am at the meeting place.
The other 17 and workshop leaders arrived and I thought I could just put my camera away... What a camera's and lenses they had with them.... My camera is nothing compared with that.
But... I'm there mostly for the experience, cause when can you see Fallow deer in mating season? I didn't know where to do that!

We gaan in 2 groepen op pad, gewapend met camera's en statief. Al snel horen we het geburl van de mannetjes. Een indrukwekkend geluid.
De workshopleiders Joost & Joost weten precies waar ze moeten zijn. De arena waar de herten vechten om de beste plaats in het midden.
** We go on route in 2 groupes, with our camera's and tripods. We hear the burling of the deer soon. A impressive sound.
The workshop leaders Joost & Joost know exactly where to go. The arena where the deer fight to get the best place in the middle.

Het meest vruchtbare hert ligt in het midden en is het plaatshert.

Met wat geduld zijn de mannetje prima te fotograferen.

With some patience you can photograph the males quit nice.

Helaas zien we vandaag geen gevechten.... De herten zijn allemaal zeer tolerant naar elkaar toe. Misschien ook omdat het best heel druk is in het bos?
Sadly, we didn't see any fights between the males today... The deer are very tolerant to each other. Maybe also because it is crowded in the woods?

Roeiboot ~Scraplift chain

Bij "My Scrapbook Nook" heb ik meegedaan aan een Scraplift chain. De eerste maakt een layout n.a.v. een sketch, en de layout wordt doorgestuurd naar de volgende. Iedereen ziet alleen de layout van zijn voorganger en lift die.

Ik kreeg deze layout van Lilith:

en lifte die tot deze layout:

In het zakje zit een label met journaling:
Op vakantie in Runkel an der Lahn. We hadden 2 roeiboten mee, splinternieuw!
De volgende dag zouden we met met z'n vieren in de boten de Lahn afzakken naar Limburg.
Ik zou de boten wel even oppompen, terwijl pappa en mamma boodschappen waren doen.
Geheel in gedachten verzonken was ik aan het pompen, tot... er een grote knal klonk!
De boot sprong uit elkaar... Oeps! Iets teveel lucht.
De buren zeiden later: "We zagen het al aankomen". Fijn dat ze dan even waarschuwen hé?
We zijn uiteindelijke met 1 boot de Lahn afgezakt, maar niet met z'n vieren. Mamma bleef thuis.
We vertrokken met mooi weer, maar de tocht duurde een stuk langer dan verwacht.

I'm so honored to be part of the Pagemaps October reveal!
Becky send me this sketch to work with.

Wonderful isn't it?
I still wanted to make just one layout for my sisters wedding book, and this sketch was perfect for it.

The poppy's are inspired by Pinterest and are made from felt.
Just cut circles by hand in 3 different sizes. Put them on top of each other and stitch them together.
With a black pearl pen I made the seeds.

Journaling reads:
Before leaving to "De Meijerhorst" just a check if the hair is sitting alright.
Of course also some pics of the 2 sisters together.

Herfst krans

Omdat de herfst toch echt voor de deur staat, wilde ik iets maken voor in huis.
Toen ik bezig was met mijn layout over de herfst kwam ik de chipboard bladeren van Maya Road weer tegen (na veel gezoek...)
Dat is de basis van het idee voor mijn krans voor RRR#32.
** Cause Fall is right around the corner, I wanted to make something for in the house.
When I was working on my layout about Fall I run into the chipboard leafs from Maya Road (after a lot of searching...)
That was the base for the idea for this wreath for RRR#32.

Zo heb ik de krans gemaakt:

** This is how I made the wreath:

De chipboard bladeren uit de mal drukken. Een aantal had ik er al gebruikt, dus ik had niet genoeg!

** Punch the chipboard leafs out. I already used a few, so I didn't had enough!

Dus met behulp van de mal heb ik de bladeren nagetekend.

Met een breekmesje alle bladeren uitsnijden. Een vervelend en zwaar klusje...

** So I used the template to draw the leafs. With a knife cut all the leafs. A terrible work!

Ik heb gekozen voor My Minds Eye papier.

De chipboard bladeren met lijm insmeren (ik heb Tacky glue gebruikt)

en op de achterkant van het papier plakken.

**I have chosen for My Minds Eye papers.

Put glue on the chipboard leafs (I used Tacky Glue)

and place them on the back of the papers.

Een tijdje laten drogen. Niet te kort, want dan kost het uitsnijden veel meer moeite!

En dan kun je weer de vorm uitsnijden. Dit is gelukkig een stuk eenvoudiger snijden...

** Let them dry a while. Not to short, cause then the cutting will be harder!

And then cut out the shape again. This is a lot easier then the chipboard...

Als je de bladeren uit hebt gesneden, kun je ze het beste even schuren. Zo haal je de randjes die je niet helemaal netjes hebt gesneden eraf. Ik doe dat gewoon met een schuurpapiertje.

** After cutting the leafs, sand the edges. That way you will get rid off the pieces you didn't cut neat.

I just use a sand paper.

Met Ranger Distress inkt (Tea dye) eerst de randjes van de bladeren inkten met de blendingtool.

With Ranger Distress Ink (Tea Dye) ink the edge of the leaves with a blending tool.

Daarna inkt je de rest van het blad ook lichtjes met de blendingtool.

Ook de achterkant heb ik geinkt.

** After that you ink the whole leaf a little with the blending tool.

I also inked the back side.

Dan maak je setjes van de bladeren. Ik heb er steeds 3 bij elkaar gedaan.

Met een stukje dubbelzijdige tape plak je ze op elkaar.

Make sets of the leafs. I put 3 off them on top of each other.

Use some double sided tape to glue them together.

Ook een stukje lint heb ik even bewerkt met distress inkt.

I also inked the piece of ribbon with distress ink.

Het lint haal je tussen een twijg van de krans door.

Je maakt een strik om de bladeren heen.

Put the ribbon through a branch of the wreath.

Make a bow around the leafs.

Je bladeren zitten nu op je krans. Tijd voor het volgende setje bladeren tot je helemaal rond bent!

** The leafs are now on the wreath.

Time for the next set of leafs till the wreath is full (or till you are pleased!)

Tot slot heb ik nog wat bruine Glimmermist over de bladeren heen gespoten.

**At last I missed the leafs with some brown Glimmer mist.

When I showed this layout someone asked how I did the background.

It's so easy!
I used this stencils (Punchanella) from the Paper Studio:

and some distress ink with the blending tool.

First I used the red ink (Barn door) and applied it with the blending tool. After that I took the Tea dye distress ink, shifted the Punchanella a bit, and applied it over the red very lightly.
That's it!

In de envelop van Miranda zat de lijn Salt Air van Cosmo Crickets. Een mooie lijn, maar ook een lastige lijn vond ik...

Na wat heen en weer geschuif heb ik er toch een layout mee weten te maken.

** In the envelop from Miranda was the line Salt Air from Cosmo Crickets. A beautiful one, but also a difficult, I think.....

After some pushing around I finally managed to make this layout.

De foto's zijn genomen in Ouwehands Dierenpark, waar mijn neefje Emil en ik de dag na de bruiloft van Regina en Rene heen gingen.

** The pictures are taken in a Zoo where my nephew Emil and I went too, the day after my sisters wedding.

I used a picture I made this summer while we where away for a midweek on a bungalow park. There was a show with birds of prey and I was able to take some great pics.

The flower I made with a Gluber and some ribbon. Did you use one already? I just love them!!

An old love.....

Yesterday I decided that I want to breath new life in an old love.
I had to make it free from years of dust, before I could start, but when I had done that, it was so much fun!
My old guitar!!

When I was young I had several years lessons to learn to play the guitar. I learned to play classic music.
But that wasn't really what I wanted.... I wanted to play songs and sing with it, at the campfire etc.
My teacher couldn't teach me that...
I tried to learn it myself when I was just married, but I had a great problem with tuning.

A while ago a colleague told me that there are instruments now that help you tune, so I ordered that online. I hope it will come soon!
I also ordered a online course playing the guitar and I started today with lesson 1. My fingers are a bit sore now, but it is so much fun!
I already can play "Happy Birthday" a little bit...

Here is one of those fabulous sketches of Karan again.

I used it this time to create the front of a canvas book. From my sis her wedding, as a gift for my parents.

The canvas book is not ready yet. But... I'll show you when it is!

I used a lot of Tim Holtz distress ink for this project.

The cover of the book is made from cardboard.

There is one Prima flower on it (right), the other flower is a very cheap one from a Hortensia of the Action.

The pearl dread is from the Xenos, just like the pearl brad in the center of the flower.

Are you ready for another great sketch??
Here is sketch #52 from Sketchabilities. As always I love it!!

Here is my take on it. Again with paper for an envelop swap, this time from Marlies.

"Adventure is just a page away"

When I got this envelop the papers reminded me at once at some childrenbooks "Gouden boekjes" I did read when I was little. They look like this:

And that reminded me at all those times when I was reading as a kid. So I searched for a photo where I was reading. But... there wasn't one from me as a child. But by going through all the pics I found some of us going on holiday. And that was for me a great moment to read. I started reading the moment we get in the car and before we reached our destination I had already finished a big part of my first book....

So that is what my layout is all about! Good memories!!

Kevin had deze week de laatste dag op de Basisschool. Na de vakantie gaat 'ie naar de middelbare school.
Een bijzonder moment, waarop een periode wordt afgesloten en een nieuwe gaat beginnen.
